Facelift Treatment in North Dakota

Facelift, North Dakota

Aging, the sun, and weight fluctuation can all affect the face. As time goes by, the muscles and tissue on the neck and face can become loose, resulting in deep creases along the nose extending to the corner of the mouth and a loss of skin tone in the lower face, which creates jowls, loose skin, and excess fatty deposits around the jawline.

A neck or facelift can produce a natural looking anti-aging effect. Dr. Paulson uses a comprehensive approach that addresses the skin plus the underlying muscles, fat, and fascia in order to create subtle yet effective changes.

Overview

A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that improves the appearance of the lower two-thirds of the face by tightening sagging facial muscles, smoothing wrinkled skin, and removing excess fat. This procedure can be combined with a neck lift for improvement under the chin.

Restore youthful contours in the face, making you look years younger.

Same-day surgery. Two weeks off of work depending on bruising and swelling. Drain removed a one-day postop. Compression garment to be worn x3-4wks. 6wks would be optimal. Most sutures are removed 6-7 days after surgery.

You will have drains placed during the procedure and your head and face will be wrapped in bandages after the procedure is complete. The next day the dressings and drains will be removed. Bruising generally lasts up to 2 weeks.

Arnica Montana is typically given before surgery and continued postop to decrease bruising to the area.

A facelift can be done alone or in conjunction with other procedures. During the facelift procedure, incisions are made along the hairline, in front of the ear, and behind the earlobe. Excess skin is lifted and removed and the deeper tissue is tightened and secured. Fat may also be trimmed from around the neck and chin to improve contour. A facelift may take three hours or more, depending on the condition of your skin, and is performed under general anesthesia. Following a facelift, your head will be wrapped in bandages to reduce bruising and swelling.

Most patients who undergo facelift experience little pain or discomfort after their procedure. Any discomfort can be controlled and minimized with medication.

Side effects of a facelift include swelling, bruising, numbness, and tightness.
