Liposuction, North Dakota
Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures for both men and women. For many people, the inability to have an attractive youthful shape can be bothersome, particularly for those who have tried to improve their appearance through diet and exercise. Your goal for liposuction should be to improve body contour, understanding that it will not change the way your skin looks. Liposuction removes persistent fat not responsive to diet and exercise and establishes more normal proportions between areas of the body. It also improves your appearance both in and out of clothing.
Sometimes, a healthy diet and exercise routine are just not enough to achieve the body you want. It can be difficult to eliminate the stubborn pockets of fat from problem areas such as the legs, buttocks, hips, stomach, and arms. Liposuction is a procedure that is aimed at these areas to sculpt your body into the trim, firm shape you desire.
Overview
Surgical removal of localized fat cells and fat deposits.
Slims and reshapes specific areas of the body, improving body contours and proportion, ultimately enhancing one’s self-image.
Incisions may take 5-10 days to heal. Healing will continue for several weeks. Tiny incisions sites will improve over time.
Soreness, bruising, numbness, and burning sensations, but these minor side effects should subside within a few days or weeks. Absorbent dressing will be used for the first 3-4 days.
A compression garment is worn to the area for up to six weeks.
During the procedure, your surgeon uses a specially-designed surgical instrument known as a cannula to break up and remove excess pockets of fat. The procedure requires only small incisions and, with modern techniques, swelling and bruising during the recovery period can be minimized. Liposuction is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia.
It is important for plastic surgery patients to remember that this procedure is meant for body contouring and is not a treatment for obesity. You need to be close to your body weight to be an ideal candidate. Liposuction can’t help with generalized obesity, intra-abdominal fat, or excess loose skin.
